Lorraine S. Brugh is Senior Research Professor of Music at Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana. She is also Adjunct Professor of Theology, teaching in the area of contemporary systematics. From 2017-2019 Dr. Brugh served as Resident Director of VU’s Study Abroad program in Cambridge, England.
Dr. Brugh has been involved in the development of Lutheran music and worship practices for many years. She has written short descriptions of hymns for the upcoming hymnal supplement from Augsburg Fortress All Creation Sings in November 2020. She was a contributor to the ELCA’s 2016 publication Can We
Talk? Engaging Worship and Culture. Dr. Brugh is a past president of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, a member of the North Academy of Liturgy, and the American Guild of Organists.
